How many drops of water will fit on a penny? Find out in Mrs. Dillard’s class!
Third graders in Ms. Carr's class are eager to participate using technology. The Activexpression handheld allows students to respond to multiple choice and true/false questions, and even allows students to text responses. This gives the teacher instant feedback and instruction can be modified on the spot.
“Trabajando mano en mano, logramos Éxito!” Teachers at Lake Hamilton Elementary enjoy using technology everyday. It helps build learning success. Mrs. Qualls and Mrs. Slicko love using iPads, computers, and study buddies to help new English learners improve language skills.

The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA), a department of ACT, Inc., recognized Lake Hamilton Elementary School as a 2011 NCEA Higher Performing School. Lake Hamilton Elementary School received Higher Performing (HP) recognition in the following areas: Higher performing in Math based on the number of students that have advanced scores in Math on the statewide Benchmark exams. The Higher Performing Schools (formerly known as Just for the Kids Schools) are identified by two measures: consistent improvement in student achievement from previous years (growth) and/or absolute student achievement using the schools advanced performance results on the spring 2011 Arkansas ABE (Augmented Benchmark Examinations). NCEA's higher performing methodology controls for school and student demographics to allow for an apples-to-apples comparison of school achievement and to demonstrate that with the commitment of educators, all schools can have success no matter the zip code. NCEA provided award certificates to each Higher Performing School and the district.

Lake Hamilton Elementary is a child-centered school. Our staff, parents, and community are committed to providing the whole child with a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We accept the cooperative challenge that each child will reach full potential using higher level thinking skills in reading, math, and writing to promote lifelong learning in our ever-changing technological world.
