Lake Hamilton High School will celebrate the 2013 track & field season on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:00 P.M. at the high school cafeteria.  We will have hot dogs and watch a season video and present a bunch of awards.  I hope all the team members can attend and their families are invited too.

The extra yearbooks are on sale for $50.  You can pay with cash or money order, NO CHECKS.  If you ordered a yearbook and haven’t picked it up yet, you may do so between classes in the office.

 

Summer school forms are now available in the office.  The program is FREE to attend.  Sign up soon because space is limited

 

The Parent Center is having a Peanut Butter and Jelly drive.  Collection boxes will be in buildings and picked up on Friday, May 24. 

 

Those that are planning on going to New York City and Washington D.C. in 2014 With Close-Up will meet TODAY at 6p.m. in room 302.  Any that would like more information are welcome to attend, and hear about the exciting opportunities for next years trip. See you on the 20th. 

 

The upward Bound students will meet each Thursday from 3:05-4:05 in Mrs. Kewak’s room #600.

 

Applications for the Upward Bound program are available in the counselors’ office or you may request one from Mr. Kewak, Mrs. Kara or Mrs. Kewak.

 

FREE ACT FOR ALL JUNIORS…..Lake Hamilton High School will provide Juniors with reimbursement for one ACT taken during this school year (2012-2013).  Juniors will register and make the initial payment to ACT on-line or by mail.   A copy of the ACT results that are mailed to the student must be submitted as proof of participation.  The student will then receive reimbursement for that exam.

After school tutoring is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in the Media Center.  There will be teachers in Math, Science, History, English, and Spanish available for free tutoring.  Anyone who feels they need help is encouraged to come.  You must sign in and you will be assigned to a teacher for help.

 

For scholarship information, check the box in the guidance office.

The Fun City Chorus Scholarship deadline date has been extended to May 24th.  Applications are available in the counselor’s office.

 

The “Student Award Search Aid” website is renewing the scholarship for 2013.  Visit their website @http://www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm to read about and apply for their scholarship.  Deadline is May 27, 2013

 

The Arkansas Chapter of Associated General Contractors’ Education Foundation awards a $1,000 scholarship to graduating high school seniors that are interest in construction or related fields.  Applications available in the scholarship book.  Deadline is June 1, 2013.

 

The National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth (NAEHCY) is offering two scholarships in the amount of $1,500.  You may download application @ http://www.naehcy.org/letendre_app.html or pick one from the scholarship book.

The BigSun Organization is offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student.  All student athletes are eligible for this award regardless of which sport they are participating in.  Amount of award is $500.  Online at http://www.bigsunathletics.com  Deadline is June 21, 2013

 

The UALR Media Camp 2013 for high school sophomores and juniors will be July 7-13. The cost is $750 and applications are available at ualr.edu/mediacamp
