The media center contains resources selected to support the school's instructional program. It is a work in progress. Staff and students are welcome to offer suggestions for the purchase of additional resources and materials. Many times a media center will have more resources on some topics than another media center depending upon its school curriculum focus. Students are encouraged to make a thorough search of resources in the LHJH media center and to request assistance from the media specialist before going elsewhere.

We believe that Library Media Services should:

• be the hub curriculum and instruction in each building for students, staff, and district patrons.
• provide fair and equitable access to information.
• provide intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats in a safe and cooperative environments.
• provide patrons with the skills necessary to become lifelong, independent, discerning researchers.
• promote the love of reading and a thirst for knowledge.
